The caring and commitment that exemplify the More To Share® program are shown in a variety of ways in communities across America. Here are examples of our efforts in 2008:
Atlanta, GA — Kroger delivered 300 Honeysuckle White® turkeys for the Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless dinner held on Thanksgiving Day at Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves.
Baltimore, MD — A delivery of 700 Shady Brook Farms® turkeys, coordinated with Mars Supermarkets, allowed the Bea Gaddy Family Center to provide holiday meals to people in need.
Baton Rouge, LA — Albertson's helped donate 100 Honeysuckle White® turkeys to the "Feed-a-Family" food drive to benefit the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. The grocer also presented a $5,000 donation and 140 more turkeys to the charity.
Boise, ID — Albertson's teamed up with the Idaho Food Bank to deliver 200 Honeysuckle White® turkeys to those in need with the help of Boise State University football players.
Boston, MA — Stop and Shop helped donate 250 Shady Brook Farms® turkeys which were distributed to families of children in the Hyde Park branch of the YMCA's day care program.
Buffalo, NY — The Charter School for Applied Technologies and Tops Markets took part in the annual Turkey Run benefitting the Food Bank of Western New York. The 200 Honeysuckle White® turkeys were distributed to the area's shelters and soup kitchens.
Cincinnati, OH — 150 Honeysuckle White® turkey vouchers, given in cooperation with Kroger, helped the Freestore Food Bank fill holiday food baskets, which were distributed to constituents by Cincinnati Bengals players.
Columbus, OH — With 200 Honeysuckle White® turkeys from Kroger, Volunteers of America delivered 2500 Thanksgiving meals to community members in need.
Denver, CO — Grocery partner Albertsons helped donate 100 Honeysuckle White® turkeys for a Thanksgiving dinner was held by the Catholic Charities Samaritan House.
Detroit, MI — A donation of 250 Honeysuckle White® turkeys and other contributions from Kroger helped Capuchin Soup Kitchen's Thanksgiving dinner, during which it served more than 650 families.
Fort Worth, TX — 100 Honeysuckle White® turkeys were donated with Albertsons and the texas Christian University (TCU) "Turkeys for Touchdowns" program. TCU players delivered turkeys to the Presbyterian Night Shelter of Tarrant County.
Indianapolis, IN — A delivery of 200 Honeysuckle White® turkeys by Kroger and two Kids Café dinner events by Gleaners Food Bank fed hundreds of youth and families in need.
Jacksonville, FL — 200 Honeysuckle White® turkeys, donated in partnership with Winn-Dixie, helped fill holiday food baskets given to the community by the Salvation Army of Northeast Florida. The Salvation Army hosted dinners on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Eve.
Johnstown-Altoona , PA — Giant Eagle helped donate 100 Honeysuckle White® turkeys to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank, which were given to local charities and fed 1,200 people.
Kansas City, MO — The City Union Mission held a Thanksgiving dinner at its Men's Center with 175 Honeysuckle White® turkeys donated in cooperation with Price Chopper.
Memphis, TN — Kroger helped donate 250 Honeysuckle White® turkeys to the Variety Club of Memphis, which provided food baskets to in-need families.
Oklahoma City, OK — The Salvation Army held a dinner for the needy, featuring 150 Honeysuckle White® turkeys donated in collaboration with Homeland Stores.
Orlando, FL — Albertsons, in conjunction with the Salvation Army's Christmas Toy Shop program, handed out 200 Honeysuckle White® turkey vouchers to families in need.
Philadelphia, PA — ACME grocery stores helped facilitate Shady Brook Farms® turkey donations to Project H.O.M.E. and Urban Genesis along with a food basket distribution.
Phoenix, AZ — A televised food drive and a donation of 200 Honeysuckle White® turkeys with grocer Fry's benefited the Salvation Army, which donated turkeys to those in need.
Pittsburgh, PA — A donation of 300 honeysuckle White® turkeys with grocer Giant Eagle helped the Salvation Army host 11 holiday dinners around the community.
Riverside, CA — Stater Brothers Markets helped distribute 100 Honeysuckle White® turkeys to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties through a "turkey brigade."
Salt Lake City, UT — Albertsons delivered 200 Honeysuckle White® turkeys to the Salt Lake City Mission In-need families picked up turkeys for their holiday meals and enjoyed a dinner held by the mission.
San Bernardino, CA — Stater Brothers Markets helped donate 100 Honeysuckle White® turkeys to Community Action Partnership.
Springfield, MO — Members of Joplin's Elk Lodge worked together with Food 4 Less to create and deliver food baskets featuring 250 Honeysuckle White® turkeys.
St. Louis, MO — Operation Food Search and grocer Schnuck's distributed 150 Honeysuckle White® turkeys to the Kingdom House Day Care Center with help from members of the St. Louis Cardinals organization.
Wichita, KS — With 110 Honeysuckle White® turkeys and the help of Dillons, the YMCA held a We Care dinner providing hundreds of families with a good holiday meal.
